… though it is not without unease. It seems so petty to fixate on his purposely overblown “anti-vaxxer” reputation when the government and Big Pharma are themselves so culpable. He’s the only alternative that seems viable and vital. It’s quixotic, it’s messianic, and it’s all too likely to end in assassination. There’s also a good chance that in the wild-card case he actually got elected, he’d end up being a lot less antiwar, anticorporate, and anti–Deep State than he vows to be.
But at least he’s fresh, he’s deeply intelligent, and he has AA as his spiritual guidance system, something I trust. He’s an animal lover, a falconer inspired by T. H. White, a lover and defender of nature and of a clean and detoxified environment. He stands out between the red and blue factions mired in their ruts, chanting their preprogrammed slogans. He seems to me the only hope, though “hope” itself can only be dimmed, dubious and self-mocking. Obama hollowed out the word the way Trump tainted “trump.” You can’t say “hope” without the echo “hopium.”
Well, it’s a reckless last bet. What have we got left to lose?

Plus, he's kinda hot.
However ... RFK Jr.'s utterly one-sided stance on Israel is hurting him on the left, a part of the potential coalition that WAS eager to support him. One almost hopes it is calculated and strategic and that in the unlikely event he got elected, he would feel free and brave enough to amend it. Maybe some large funding sources would bail if he qualified his approval of Israel, or maybe he sees it as a third rail that could derail his campaign. It's hard to believe it's the one issue he hasn't given any "nuanced" thought.
